Frequently asked questions about Quinns…

I am always colouring my hair, do I need a skin test?

At any point you can show an allergic reaction to colour. Quinns recommends always skin testing 48 hrs before your colour appointment unless you have had colour with us in the last 6 Months.

What if I am not happy with my hair after my appointment?

Simply let us know within 7 days and we will rebook an appointment for you.

I would like to change my stylist but I am worried that I will offend her?

All our stylists are all fully employed which allows us to operate a ‘free roam’ salon. Move with ease, we really don’t mind!

I am going somewhere special, how can I change my hair?

We now have many tools for styling, whether you are looking for curls, bounce or a sleek look. Chat to your stylist for the latest trends!

Are your team properly trained?

We take staff training and development very seriously and that’s why we are the only hair salon for miles around that has been awarded the highest ‘Five Star’ rating by the Good Salon Guide. They assess on the services offered, hygiene and level of our service.

We constantly train all our staff to make sure their are at the top of their game and aware of all the latest products and techniques. For example, five of our advanced stylists are ‘Paul Mitchell Colour Associates’, giving us the best possible knowledge of colouring available.

Do I need to book in advance?

Our team comprises of 10 qualified stylists so it isn’t always necessary to book but give us a call on 01837 54445 and we’ll quickly let you know if we can fit you in.

Can I book online?

To use our online booking system simply register at the salon or call us on 01837 54445 to gain log in details.

Do you stay open late for people who work normal hours?

We stay open until 9pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays – just call to book!

What if I’m not satisfied with a visit or a product I buy from you?

If we do not meet your expectations for a styling or treatment we ask you to allow us to exceed them simply by returning within 7 days, free of charge.

If you but a product from us and are not happy with it, simply return it for a refund or exchange within 14 days.

Do you cut men’s and children’s hair?

Yes we have 9 stylists who are all experienced and available.

Can you colour my hair, I am 15?

Due to new legislation, we cannot use hair dyes, straightening products or perms on anyone under the age of 16. We believe children’s hair is naturally beautiful and would rather enhance with non-dye services.

I am on my own water supply, will this affect my hair?

Usually it does, unless you have an adequate filtering system.  Deposits of copper from old plumbing can be deposited and trapped within the hair. This can make the appearance dull and even give a green cast. Talk to your stylist about No 3 shampoo which helps remove deposits. Always mention prior to colouring that you are on your own water supply as this can affect results.
